2018 Results

Trakcja Group’s sales revenue amounted to PLN 1 560 648 thousand and was more than 14% higher than the result for 2017, and the highest in three years. The net financial result for this period was negative and amounted to PLN 110,172 thousand, while Trakcja PRKiI S.A.’s sales revenue in this period amounted to PLN 1,004,295 thousand, bringing a negative financial result of  PLN 86,687 thousand. 

The financial result of the Group and of Trakcja PRKiI S.A. was affected by numerous macroeconomic factors related to rising costs of materials, subcontractors, and labour during a period of dynamic growth in demand for all means of production used in the construction industry. The 2018 results almost entirely include the costs of performing contracts concluded during the investment gap period. For completed works, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. has submitted, or is in the process of preparing, claims in an amount exceeding PLN 120 million. 

Trakcja PRKiI S.A.’s construction order backlog as at 31 December 2018 amounted to PLN 2,181 million (excluding the portion of revenue attributable to consortium partners). In 2018 the Company signed construction contracts with a total value of PLN 1,563 million (excluding the value of works attributable to consortium partners), and since the beginning of the year it has concluded new contracts worth more than PLN 120 million. In addition, in tenders already open, the total value of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.’s offers ranked first exceeds PLN 1.1 billion.

Trakcja Group’s construction order backlog as at 31 December 2018 amounted to PLN 2,557 million (excluding the portion of revenue attributable to consortium partners). In 2018 companies from Trakcja Group signed construction contracts with a total value of PLN 2,120 million (excluding the value of works attributable to consortium partners).

Trakcja Group mainly carries out railway and road contracts on the Polish and Lithuanian markets, while continuing to diversify its operations. In 2018 the Company’s sales revenue in the road sector increased almost twofold, exceeding PLN 312 million, which accounted for more than 31% of total sales. The railway segment nominally maintained last year’s level, but in real terms its share of the sales structure fell below 60%. In the tram segment the Company recorded a more than fivefold increase in sales to PLN 15.7 million, while in the energy sector sales grew by more than 47% to PLN 44.7 million.

In the structure of Trakcja Group’s sales, the nominal value of foreign revenue increased by more than 3%, while as a share of total revenue it fell by approximately 2.7% due to the growth in domestic sales. Diversification is also visible in the Group’s sales structure – the share of the road segment increased by 9.5 pp, and nominally by more than 43%; the remaining segments – energy, tram, and production – also recorded real and nominal growth.

This year Trakcja PRKiI S.A. is launching a new hall adapted for servicing machinery and railway vehicles in Bieńkowice near Wrocław, and continues to develop its operations, including in building construction and hydraulic engineering.
