Larger Order Backlog, Revenue Growth, Improved Margins in the Second Quarter

In the first half of 2018, Trakcja Group achieved revenue of PLN 578.9 million, an increase of 7.7% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The gross profit margin on sales in the period under discussion was 1.9% and was 3.6 p.p. lower than in the corresponding period of 2017. In the first half of 2018, Trakcja PRKiI achieved sales revenue of PLN 412.3 million, an increase of 28.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The gross profit margin on sales in the first half of this year was 0.8% and decreased by 4.4 p.p. compared with the corresponding period of last year.

In the second quarter of 2018, compared with the first quarter of this year, a significant improvement in profitability was recorded, including, among others, gross profit margin on sales from -3.9% to 5.0% for Trakcja Group and for Trakcja PRKiI from -1.6% to 2.5%, while net profit rose from PLN -22.5 million to PLN 1.9 million for Trakcja Group and from PLN -9.6 million to PLN 11.0 million for Trakcja PRKiI.

In the first half of 2018, companies of Trakcja Group signed construction contracts with a total value of PLN 699 million (excluding consortium partners). The construction order backlog of Trakcja Group as at 30 June 2018 amounted to PLN 2.03 billion (excluding consortium partners), while that of Trakcja PRKiI as at 30 June 2018 amounted to PLN 1.54 billion, of which PLN 327 million are contracts signed in the first half of 2018, and the average margins expected on them are higher than those currently achieved.

In addition, between 30.06.2018 and the date of publication of the report, Trakcja PRKiI signed a number of contracts worth more than PLN 1 billion, the most important of which are:

• construction of a section of the S61 expressway, of which the part attributable to the Company amounts to PLN 251 million,
• construction of the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway using existing sections of railway lines, worth PLN 481 million,
• reconstruction of track layouts on the section of the railway line Poznań Główny – Rokietnica, worth PLN 292 million.

The significant achievements of Trakcja Group in the 6-month period ended 30 June 2018 include:

• gross profit on sales for the 6-month period of 2018, which amounted to PLN 10.9 million,
• signing of new contracts worth PLN 699 million (excluding consortium partners),
• ensuring the availability of guarantee lines – as at 30 June 2018, companies of Trakcja Group had available guarantee lines at a level of PLN 670 million.
