Trakcja PRKiI to Modernise Maintenance Facilities for SKM Warszawa Trains
Almost PLN 45 million net will be the cost of the works to be carried out by Trakcja PRKiI S.A. under the contract concluded with SKM Warszawa. The existing halls, the track layout and the utility connections to the complex serving SKM Warszawa trains will be modernised.
Trakcja PRKiI S.A. and SKM Warszawa have concluded a contract worth PLN 44.88 million net, under which the technical facilities for the trains serving the Warsaw agglomeration will be modernised. The scope of works includes repair of the existing track layout, construction of tracks and of a sealed slab for the washing facility, repair and replacement of turnouts, and replacement of the overhead contact line. Two halls with a total area of almost 9 thousand m2 will be refurbished, and two new facilities – a washing facility and an office and staff welfare building – as well as access roads and car parks will be built. Part of the works will also be the modernisation of the facility’s connections to, among others, the water supply and sewage networks. The contract is to be completed within 36 months from the date of concluding the contract.
Trakcja PRKiI S.A. has already completed a similar project in Łódź, in the area of Widzew station. For almost PLN 55 million net, in just one year, the most modern technical facilities in Poland for trains serving agglomeration services were built. The facility, serving the needs of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway (ŁKA), is used by the Swiss company Stadler.
