Trakcja PRKiI to Modernise Warsaw Commuter Railway (WKD) Tracks

Modernisation of the Warsaw Commuter Railway (WKD) track between Warszawa Śródmieście and Komorów will be a task for Trakcja PRKiI. The works will be carried out in two stages within a period of just three months.

Trakcja PRKiI will modernise 17.5 km of track no. 1 of the WKD line on the Warszawa Śródmieście – Komorów section. The scope of works, besides replacing the track surface, provides among other things for trimming the trackbed shoulders, renovating drainage ditches, and installing and removing the surfaces of level crossings.

The works will be carried out in two stages. Stage I, on the section from the Warszawa Zachodnia passenger stop to the Warszawa Śródmieście WKD station, will be carried out by 30 September 2014. The second stage of works will be carried out on the Warszawa Zachodnia – Komorów section between 29 June and 31 August 2015. The works will be carried out under round-the-clock closures. The value of the contract is PLN 16.9 million net.
