The Sixth Metro Substation to Be Modernised by Trakcja!
On 19 February 2024, representatives of Trakcja and the Capital City of Warsaw concluded a contract for the modernisation of the traction and power substation, covering the replacement of DC equipment at station A9 Racławicka on Line 1 of the Warsaw Metro.
Trakcja has signed a contract for the modernisation of another Warsaw Metro substation. The scope of works covered by the contract includes replacement of RPS switchgear (10 bays), SKP, and switchgear of our own manufacture: RST (traction network switchgear) – 8 units, SOU (disconnector cabinets) – 4 units and SZW – 2 units.
– The modernisation works will be carried out on a facility that remains in operation – says Robert Czerwieniec, Director of the Energy Division at Trakcja, about the task. – This means that passengers can be assured that metro trains will continue to run without interruption. Our crews will carry out most of the works at night between 1:00 and 3:00 a.m., with the equipment fully switched off – adds Director Czerwieniec.
The modernisation will increase the reliability of the power supply, which will help minimise the causes of delays or cancelled journeys.
Trakcja has experience in modernising this type of traction and power facilities. Station A9 Racławicka will join the group of stations modernised by Trakcja: A3 Imielin (2020), A5 Ursynów (2021), A1 Kabaty (2022), A7 Wilanowska and the technical station A0 STP (2023)
The value of the task is PLN 4,978,923.15 gross, and Trakcja has planned its completion within 10 months.
