Tram Line Renovation in Gorzów – Works Begin at Night

Works on the modernisation of the tram line in Gorzów Wielkopolski began with the dismantling of the overhead contact line. In just one night, the contact wire above the tracks was taken down on the section from ul. Dworcowa to ul. Cichońskiego.

The task was carried out, among other things, using a special road-rail vehicle intended for overhead line works. “To limit traffic disruption, we will carry out non-noisy works at night – says Szymon Matusiak, representing the general contractor Trakcja PRKiI. From 15 February, thanks to the approval of the new traffic organisation, we will be able to proceed to the next stage of works, involving the removal of the road surface and the rebuilding of the utilities running beneath it. The first phase will cover demolition of the track bed, roadway and pavements. In the next stage, works will be carried out on rebuilding the sanitary sewer network and rebuilding the water supply network and connections and the gas pipeline.

Works will be carried out on the section of ul. Sikorskiego from ul. Dworcowa to ul. Młyńska. At this stage, we are enabling crossings on ul. Dworcowa and ul. Młyńska. It will also be possible to drive from al. Konstytucji 3 Maja into ul. Kosynierów Gdyńskich.

The detour around the section of ul. Sikorskiego under renovation will run along the following streets:

for local traffic: ul. Jancarza, then ul. Składowa to ul. Dworcowa, or further along ul. Spichrzowa to ul. Młyńska. At this stage of works, ul. Dworcowa and ul. Młyńska are two-way streets.
detour for through traffic: ul. Estkowskiego to the Kosynierów Gdyńskich roundabout, and then to ul. Chrobrego.

The contractor will ensure access to the properties located along the section of works under renovation.
