A bunker from 1939, part of the defence line of the Poznań Army, has been moved during construction of the S5 expressway on the Szubin – Jaroszewo section in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The structure, weighing about 180 tonnes and located near Dąbrówka Słupska, was lifted using six jacks and then moved 34.33 m in a south-easterly direction along a specially prepared sliding track. Moving the bunker, at a rate of about 3 m per hour, took several hours, but it was preceded by several weeks of preparation involving preparing the site and building the track. All the works and preparations were carried out under the supervision of the heritage conservator. After construction is completed, the bunker will be located on landscaped land in the immediate vicinity of the road and visible from passing vehicles. Construction of the expressway, nearly 19.5 km long, on the Szubin – Jaroszewo section is currently the largest road contract being carried out by Trakcja PRKiI.
