On 4 June 2020, Kauno Tiltai – a Lithuanian company of Trakcja Group – concluded a contract with the city of Klaipėda for the reconstruction of the roundabout at the junction of ul. Baltijos, ul. Silutes and ul. Wileńska.
The contract, worth approx. PLN 122 million, covers the design and construction of two viaducts linking the city with the port, the construction of underground pedestrian passages, pavements and cycle paths within the roundabout area, and the reconstruction of district heating networks. New lighting and street furniture will be installed.
The investment is of key importance for improving the capacity of the entrance to the port city.
Work is scheduled to start in the autumn. All the works will be completed within 30 months.
