On 5 January 2022 in Łódź, TRAKCJA S.A. concluded a contract with the Łódź Municipal Investment Authority (Zarząd Inwestycji Miejskich w Łodzi) concerning the reconstruction of the road and track layout along Ogrodowa and Północna streets, which is to form part of the so-called Northern Boulevards (Bulwary Północne). Speaking about this concept in particular – friendly to residents and tourists – at the press conference was the Deputy Mayor of Łódź, Adam Pustelnik. He also stressed that he is pleased that the contract will be carried out by such a renowned company as Trakcja.
“We are closely watching Łódź’s investment initiatives; the multitude of revitalisation and development projects makes a great impression. We want to be a good, proven partner for Łódź in ambitious multi-competence tasks, comprising discipline-specific works, tram works and traction works,” – said Vice-President of the Management Board of Trakcja, Arkadiusz Arciszewski, who was present at the press conference, on the signing of today’s contract.
The task is part of the programme for the revitalisation of the centre of Łódź being carried out by the City of Łódź. The works will cover a 650-metre section of track; at the intersection of ul. Nowomiejska with ul. Północna a new tram curve is to be built, enabling tram traffic between pl. Wolności and the terminus at ul. Północna. The value of the contract in question, signed on Wednesday, came to PLN 45 million gross.
