We Will Modernise the Nadodrzanka Line on the Wrocław Pracze – Głogów Section

On 28 July 2025, Trakcja signed a contract for the task entitled “Works on selected sections of the C-E 59 route – Wrocław Pracze – Głogów section”. The project is part of a broader railway infrastructure modernisation programme in this international transport corridor. The contract value is PLN 189,518,668.10 gross, and completion of the works is planned within 12 months of the date of signing.

The scope of the investment includes the preparation of full design documentation and the execution of construction works on railway line no. 273, which is part of the international C-E 59 transport route. The works will include, among others, track infrastructure, railway traffic control equipment, platforms, the overhead contact line, power engineering, railway-road level crossings and teletechnical systems.

The project provides, among others, for the comprehensive replacement of the track structure over more than 13 km, the revitalisation of almost 84 km of line, the modernisation of 31 level crossings, the construction of a new platform and the reconstruction of the existing one at the Chełmek Wołowski passenger stop, as well as the adaptation of 7 platforms to current standards. The infrastructure will be adapted to speeds of 160 km/h for passenger trains and 120 km/h for freight trains. railway traffic control (SRK) equipment will also be rebuilt, and the traction, power and telecommunications networks modernised.

The investment will significantly improve travel comfort, safety and the accessibility of the railway. It will shorten journey times and increase the capacity of line no. 273 on the C-E 59 route – a key international route. The project covers the area of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and is an important step towards the modernisation of Polish railways and strengthening their position on the national and European market.
