Trakcja S.A. to Modernise Railway Line No. 143

25 July 2025 – Trakcja S.A. signed a contract with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. for the task entitled “Execution of construction works under the project: Works on railway line no. 143 – task 1, Bierutów – Oleśnica section from km 120.490 to km 132.542”. The contract value is PLN 288,237,315.62 gross.

The aim of the project is a comprehensive modernisation of the railway infrastructure on the Bierutów – Oleśnica section, intended to bring the line up to contemporary technical and operational standards. After the works are completed, passenger trains will be able to travel at speeds of up to 120 km/h, and freight trains at up to 80 km/h, with a maximum axle load of 221 kN.

The modernisation of railway line no. 143 includes, among other things, the construction of modern platforms at the Solniki Wielkie stop, the renovation of 19 engineering structures (including bridges and viaducts), the reconstruction of 12 level crossings and the replacement of the track structure with modern continuously welded track. The project also provides for the modernisation of the traction network, drainage, power installations and traffic control systems.

Thanks to the investment, passengers will gain faster, more punctual and more comfortable connections, as well as better access to the railway – especially people with reduced mobility. Carriers will benefit from greater reliability of the infrastructure and lower maintenance costs. The project supports the development of sustainable transport and improves the safety and interoperability of railways in Poland.
