Trakcja S.A. Develops Tram Infrastructure in More Polish Cities

On 3 July 2025, Toruń Municipal Transport Company (Miejski Zakład Komunikacji w Toruniu Sp. z o.o.) signed a contract with Trakcja S.A. for the task entitled “Modernisation of the tram track together with necessary infrastructure on ul. Konstytucji 3 Maja and ul. Kościuszki”. The contract value is PLN 80.8 million gross.

The scope of works includes the modernisation of approx. 2.9 km of tram track in total, the reconstruction of the Olimpijska loop, and the construction of a new traction substation and facilities for filling sandboxes. The tracks will be built using green-track technology, which will reduce noise and improve the microclimate. The overhead contact line, street lighting, underground infrastructure and the surfaces of carriageways, pavements and cycle paths will also be rebuilt.

Thanks to the investment, residents will gain quieter, more comfortable and more punctual public transport, and the modern infrastructure will improve the safety and aesthetics of the urban space. The works will take 18 and 12 months respectively for the two tasks.

• the extension of the road and track layout along ul. Ogrodowa – Północna, together with the reconstruction of the tram loop at ul. Północna in Łódź,
