Trakcja Has Completed Construction of a Section of ul. Szczecińska – from ul. Aleksandrowska (DK72) to the Link Road to the S14 in Łódź. The New Section Is Now Open

On Sunday, 6 July 2025, at midnight, a new section of ul. Szczecińska in Łódź was put into use, connecting national road no. 72 with the link road to the S14 expressway. The project was delivered by Trakcja S.A., which was responsible for the comprehensive execution of road and infrastructure works. It is an important project for the residents of western Łódź, which has significantly improved transport accessibility in this part of the city and made it easier to join traffic on the Western Bypass of Łódź (Zachodnia Obwodnica Łodzi).

The new section of ul. Szczecińska is a modern road 1.5 km long. The carriageway has lanes 3.5 metres wide. As part of the project, Trakcja also built lighting, pavements, cycle paths, bus bays, two turbo roundabouts and a bus turnaround loop at ul. Rojna. Extensive planting of greenery was also carried out.

The contract value was almost PLN 87.6 million gross. The investor is Łódzkie Inwestycje. The works lasted 11 months and were completed on schedule.

The new section relieved local traffic, especially in the area of the Teofilów estate and nearby industrial areas. Thanks to it, residents and businesses gained quick and direct access to the expressway network, which translated into shorter journey times and improved safety and travel comfort.

Łódź is speeding up – the new section of ul. Szczecińska is another step towards efficient, safe and modern urban infrastructure.
