Modern Transport Hub in Radom. Viaduct and Radom Wschodni Stop Opened

On 27 June 2025, residents of Radom gained a modern road viaduct and the Radom Wschodni railway stop. The investment was carried out by Trakcja S.A. within 14 months, commissioned by the City of Radom and PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. Its aim was to improve urban and rail transport and to improve the everyday travel comfort of residents.

The new viaduct along Żeromskiego and Lubelska streets is 282 metres long and more than 33 metres wide. It includes two carriageways with bus lanes, pedestrian and cycle routes, and bus stops integrated with the railway. More than 11,000 m³ of concrete and 1,800 tonnes of steel were used in its construction. The spans were made of S460 Histar I-beams brought from Luxembourg, which enabled efficient execution over active railway tracks.

Directly beneath the viaduct, the new Radom Wschodni railway stop was built, with a 300-metre platform fully adapted to the needs of persons with reduced mobility. The facility is equipped with lifts, escalators, tactile paths, a dynamic passenger information system, modern lighting and shelters.

An integral part of the investment is a glazed gallery building 13.5 metres high, combining functionality with modern architecture, in the construction of which more than 1270 m2 of glazing was used. The whole forms a functional and aesthetic interchange that makes everyday journeys easier and helps reduce car traffic in the city centre.

– Delivering such a complex project is the result of excellent cooperation by our team, for which I sincerely thank them – said Tomasz Wardak, Member of the Management Board, Finance Director of Trakcja S.A.

Radom proves that modern transport infrastructure can be built efficiently, with residents in mind and with respect for the principles of sustainable development.
