Trakcja Group Posted PLN 22 Million Profit for 9 Months

Nearly PLN 1.1 billion in sales revenue and more than PLN 22 million in net profit for the first 9 months of this year come from a report published today. Compared to the corresponding period of last year, revenue of the Trakcja  Group increased by 10%, and profit by more than 17%.

This is an excellent result, given this year’s short construction season caused by a long winter and, typical for the industry, the concentration of revenue in the last months of the year– says Roman Przybył, President of the Management Board of Trakcja S.A. The good results are largely due to the results of Kauno Tiltai – the Lithuanian part of the group, supported by the restructuring carried out at Trakcja S.A  bringing positive effects.

At the end of October, a merger plan for Trakcja S.A. and PRKiI, headquartered in Wrocław, was announced. These are two entities with a similar scope of business, whose consolidation will primarily bring optimisation of the management of execution potential and economies of scale in the area of supplies.

The Group’s revenue in the third quarter amounted to more than PLN 531 million and was more than 30% higher than in the corresponding period of last year. The gross profit margin on sales improved, reaching 8.2% compared to 4.8% in the same period of the previous year. The result for the 9 months of 2013 was also positively affected by the sale of surplus assets and the resolution of disputes with consortium partners.

The financial results and organisational changes were noted by the financial markets. Shares of Trakcja S.A., listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2008, rose by more than 200% over the last 6 months, including by more than 80% in the last month.

This is a positive assessment of our company and its prospects– adds President Przybył.

The detailed report for the third quarter is available, among other places, on the company’s website.
