Trakcja S.A. in mWIG 40 Index on the Warsaw Stock Exchange
On 14 November 2013, the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange adopted a resolution on the inclusion of Trakcja S.A. in the mWIG 40 index after the session on 20 December 2013. Until now, the company had been part of the sWIG 80 index. The decision was made as a result of the quarterly review of index participants. PKP CARGO, which debuted on the stock exchange on 30 October this year, will also join mWIG 40 along with Trakcja.
The company’s inclusion in this index is certainly a positive assessment of the restructuring measures carried out so far and the economic results achieved – says Roman Przybył, President of the Management Board of Trakcja. We have a very good reputation on the infrastructure investment execution market, which makes the recognition expressed by the capital markets all the more pleasing – he adds.
At the end of October, a merger plan for Trakcja S.A. and PRKiI Wrocław was announced. These are two near-identical entities in terms of scope of business, whose consolidation will bring optimisation of the management of execution potential and economies of scale in the area of supplies.
Trakcja Group comprises: AB Kauno Tiltai Group, Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Kolejowych i Inżynieryjnych Wrocław, PRK 7 Nieruchomości, Torprojekt, PEUiM and Bahn Technik Wrocław. The Group’s revenue in the third quarter amounted to more than PLN 531 million and was more than 30% higher than in the corresponding period of last year. The gross profit margin improved, reaching 8.2% compared to 4.8% in the same period of the previous year. The result was also positively affected by the sale of surplus assets and the resolution of disputes with consortium partners.
The financial results and organisational changes were positively noted by the financial markets. Shares of Trakcja S.A., listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2008, have risen almost fourfold since April this year.
