Trakcja PRKiI to Modernise Line 405 from Szczecinek to Ustka

Trakcja PRKiI has signed a contract worth more than PLN 165 million net for the design and reconstruction of almost 90 km of railway line no. 405 on the section from the border of the Pomeranian Voivodeship to Ustka.

The investment provides for the replacement of the overhead contact line and the track, the strengthening of the trackbed, and the reconstruction of 53 level crossings, 8 viaducts and 4 bridges. 26 platforms will also be revitalised – the facilities will receive new lighting, shelters and small-scale architectural elements (street furniture). In addition, a new pedestrian underpass beneath the tracks will be built at Kępice station. The task will also include works in the telecommunications, power engineering and sanitary sectors, and in railway traffic control.

After the modernisation is completed, passenger trains will speed up on the route to 100 km/h, and freight trains to 80 km/h.

The investment will be carried out within 31 months from the date of commencement of works.
