Trakcja PRKiI Consistently Improves Results, Group Records Seasonal Declines

In the first quarter of 2017, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. achieved sales revenue of PLN 91.7 million, an increase of 0.8% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. A further decrease of more than 8% in overhead costs was also recorded. In this period the Company achieved a net profit of PLN 3.9 million.

“We are consistently improving the results of Trakcja PRKiI. Organisational changes in the company and a rational bidding policy have brought a visible improvement in margin. We are systematically rebuilding our order backlog in all the markets served by the company – says Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI. The sales structure and the seasonality factor had a greater impact this year on the revenue of the Lithuanian companies, which only started work in March. Meanwhile, the increase in competitiveness was reflected in the level of margins of the other subsidiaries. This resulted in slight declines in the results achieved by the Group. In addition, activities aimed at diversifying the Group’s business into new markets are characterised by lower margins in the first phases of expansion” – adds Tomaszewski.

In the first quarter of 2017, Trakcja Group achieved sales revenue of PLN 136.6 million, which decreased by approx. 2.5% compared with the corresponding period of last year. The Group’s net result for the first quarter of 2017 was negative and amounted to PLN 6.2 million, compared with a positive PLN 0.5 million in the same period of 2016.

The Trakcja Group’s construction order backlog as at 31 March 2017 amounted to PLN 1,347 million (excluding consortium partners). In the first quarter of 2017, Trakcja Group companies signed construction contracts with a total value of PLN 249 million (excluding consortium partners), while since 1 April the value of further signed contracts has been almost PLN 600 million. In addition, the total value of Trakcja PRKiI’s bids ranked in 1st place in open rail and road tenders is nearly PLN 1 billion. Participation in new tenders will allow the Group to secure its contract portfolio for subsequent periods to an even greater extent.
