Profitability Under Control

The decrease in revenue did not significantly affect profitability. Trakcja Group is successfully developing its business in new segments, diversifying its order backlog and building execution capacity for the implementation of future railway investments.   

In the 6-month period of 2016, Trakcja Group achieved revenue of PLN 478.8 million, which compared to the same period of 2015 fell by 15.2%. At the same time, the Group generated a net profit of PLN 18.6 million, which represents an increase of 3.1%.   

“This year, for the first time in several years, we paid a dividend of PLN 17,475,846.32. It accounted for close to 50% of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.’s profit for 2015. In our portfolio, road and energy contracts already account for more than 30% of orders, easing the slowdown on the tracks. However, we are building execution capacity for new railway investments and we intend to maintain our current share of this market – said Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.  

Meanwhile, in H1 2016 Trakcja PRKiI S.A. achieved sales revenue of PLN 268.3 million, down 22.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The gross profit margin on sales in H1 2016 amounted to 5.9% and decreased by 3.4 p.p. compared to the comparable period.

The Company’s financial income for the period from 1 January to 30 June 2016 amounted to PLN 25.5 million and increased compared to the comparable period by PLN 7.8 million. The increase in financial income resulted mainly from an increase of PLN 9.3 million in dividends received from subsidiaries. Financial costs in H1 2016 decreased by PLN 1.9 million and amounted to PLN 2.1 million. The decrease was mainly the result of a lower level of debt compared to the same period of the previous year and the absence of bond interest due to their repayment in 2015.

In the period under review, the Company generated a gross profit of PLN 27.2 million, a result that was higher by PLN 2.1 million compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, in which the Company achieved a gross profit of PLN 25 million.
