The project involves the modernisation of a section of the Warsaw – Poznań railway line on the Sochaczew – Żychlin and Placencja – Łowicz Główny sections, with a total length of 50 km. The contract includes, among other things, reconstruction of the track surface and track bed, replacement of the railway traction system together with installation of new supporting structures, installation of turnouts, and renovation of railway traffic control equipment, including the equipment of the Local Control Centre (LCS) in Łowicz. Under the contract, railway stations will be rebuilt, new engineering structures built, the telecommunications network modernised, and power lines for non-traction needs upgraded.
