Contract as Part of “e-Highway” in Germany
A project on the use of electric drive powered from an overhead contact line in heavy goods vehicles, carried out under the “Climate Protection 2020” action programme.

The scope of works performed by Trakcja PRKiI includes the installation of overhead contact line elements on two five-kilometre sections of the A5 motorway – in the direction of Frankfurt am Main and in the direction of Darmstadt. The general contractor for the contract, carried out on behalf of the road infrastructure manager in Hesse, is SIEMENS. This is the first eHighway section being implemented on a public road in Germany.
