Overhead Contact Line Modernisation

The design and construction of a new overhead contact line together with accompanying works on the Racibórz – Chałupki section is the next task that Trakcja PRKiI will carry out as part of the modernisation of line E-59 on the Kędzierzyn Koźle – Chałupki (state border) section.

The Company will rebuild almost 9 km of overhead contact line on the Racibórz – Krzyżanowice line section on track No. 1 and at Krzyżanowice station on tracks Nos. 1, 2, 4, 6 and in all crossovers, and about 13 km on the Krzyżanowice – Chałupki route on tracks Nos. 1 and 2. The task will also include the reconstruction of the LPN installed on overhead contact line support structures on track 1 of the Krzyżanowice – Chałupki route and the reconstruction of a culvert under the railway tracks.

The new overhead contact line will allow, among other things, maximum speeds of up to 100 km/h for freight trains and 120 km/h for passenger trains

To deliver the task, the company will use its professional crews and its own specialist equipment, including overhead-line (catenary) trains, rail vehicles, piling rigs and railway cranes. Completion of the works is scheduled for 30 November 2019. The value of the contract is more than PLN 28 million net.
