Modernisation of the “Sokrates” Tram Substation

Trakcja PRKiI and Tramwaje Warszawskie have signed a contract worth nearly PLN 8 million net for the comprehensive modernisation of the traction substation on ul. Sokratesa. The project includes the reconstruction of the substation building together with the replacement of power equipment. Under the contract Trakcja PRKiI will equip the substation with DC switchgear of its own production, type MRT- 06/W, as well as rectifier units, an auxiliary transformer and AC switchgear. The lightning protection and earthing installation, the smoke detection and alarm, lighting, monitoring and access control installations of the facility will be replaced.

Completion of the project is expected in the second quarter of 2020.
