Modernisation of the Stargard – Szczecin Dąbie Line
A consortium of Trakcja PRKiI has signed a contract worth PLN 561 million net for the comprehensive reconstruction of railway line E59 Poznań – Szczecin on the Stargard – Szczecin Dąbie section, more than 26 km long.
The value of the contracts we are currently carrying out in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship has exceeded PLN 1 billion. This is already the third large railway contract that we have signed in this region in the last 12 months. Since the beginning of last year we have signed contracts worth more than approx. PLN 2.2 billion, which we won after the period of the investment gap. –says Marcin Lewandowski, President of the Management Board of Trakcja PRKiI.
The contract provides for the replacement of more than 60 km of track, 82 turnouts and 70 km of overhead contact line, together with reconstruction of the power supply installations at the Stargard, Reptowo and Szczecin Dąbie traction substations. A total of 31 engineering structures and 11 platforms at the Stargard, Grzędzice Stargardzkie, Miedwiecko, Reptowo and Szczecin Zdunowo stations will be renovated: the facilities will gain new street furniture and will be adapted to the needs of persons with reduced mobility. The works will also include the construction of drainage, as well as the installation of railway traffic control equipment and environmental protection elements. After completion of the modernisation, the maximum speed for passenger trains will be 160 km/h.
The contract provides for the completion of the works by the end of November 2020; the consortium of contractors comprises Schweerbau GmbH & Co.KG and SBM.
This is another Trakcja PRKiI investment in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Since July last year the Company has been carrying out two tasks with a total value of more than PLN 503 million net as part of the construction of the Szczecin Metropolitan Railway.
