Trains ran from Słupsk to Ustka as planned. Trakcja PRKiI completed, in line with the assumptions, the stage of works on this section to the extent enabling railway traffic.
The Słupsk – Ustka section is a single-track electrified line almost 16 km long. Ustka station has gained a new geometric layout consisting of three tracks. In addition, a new drainage system with filtering protective layers of the track bed has been built at the station, which was repeatedly flooded in the past. The overhead contact line has been replaced and adjusted, and at Ustka station it has been built from scratch in line with the new track layout.
The Słupsk – Ustka section will be operated at the timetable speed, i.e. 80 km/h, which will be temporarily reduced to 60 km/h in the vicinity of level crossings, in line with the recommendations of the State Commission on Railway Accident Investigation (Państwowa Komisja Badania Wypadków Kolejowych) for a line reopened after a long closure. At a later stage, train speeds will be gradually increased and will ultimately reach 100 km/h on the open line. The next stage of finishing and aesthetic works will be carried out by the end of the contract term.
