Kauno Tiltai Signs a New Contract

On 5 December 2022, Kauno Tiltai, a company belonging to Trakcja Group, signed with the Lithuanian Road Administration a contract for construction works on a section of motorway under the project entitled “Reconstruction of a Section of the A5 Kaunas – Marijampolė – Suwałki”.

The contractor will be obliged to rebuild a 6-kilometre section of the motorway, modernise nearly 7 km of lighting network and 5 km of land drainage networks and equipment. In addition, the Company will carry out the reconstruction of national roads: no. 5107 Vilkaviškis – Kalvarija and no. 200 Kalvarija – Gražiškiai – Vištytis, together with engineering structures.

The net value of the Contract is nearly EUR 56 million, i.e. approx. PLN 260 million.
A contingency amount has also been secured for additional works not covered by the subject of the order, which may arise during the implementation of the task, at up to 10% of the Contract value, i.e. up to more than EUR 5.5 million, or nearly PLN 26 million.
The works are to be completed within 10 months from the date of entry into force of the contract, i.e. after it has been signed by both parties, the Contractor has provided the performance bond and the Contracting Authority has obtained the construction permit.
