Trakcja Group published its financial results for H1 2014. Revenue grew by more than 33%, net profit was almost 9 million higher than a year earlier, while EBITDA amounted to PLN 32.4 million, growing by 31%. Nearly 65% of the group’s revenue is generated by Trakcja PRKiI, which also significantly improved its results.
In H1 2014, Trakcja Group recorded PLN 579 million in sales revenue, representing an increase of 33% compared to the same period of 2013. Gross profit on sales amounted to PLN 49.9 million (an increase of 50.2%), EBIT was PLN 20.6 million (an increase of 54.4%), while net profit improved by almost PLN 9 million, to PLN 9.1 million. EBIDTA amounted to PLN 32.4 million, representing an increase of 31.4%.
“Trakcja Group has an order backlog worth PLN 2.5 billion, of which almost PLN 1.8 billion is attributable to Trakcja PRKiI S.A., including its consortium partners. Since the beginning of the year we have signed contracts in Poland and Lithuania worth almost PLN 285 million. We expect to sign further ones, including one worth PLN 376 million for the modernisation of the railway line between Okęcie and Czachówek. We are also winning further contracts in road construction and energy, and are actively seeking new ones in the Baltic countries’ markets”. – says Roman Przybył, President of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.
In the same period, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. achieved more than PLN 380 million in revenue, which represents an increase of 50.8% compared to the same period of the previous year (PLN 252.6 million). Gross profit on sales amounted to PLN 28.0 million (an increase of 114%), EBIT was PLN 13.4 million (an increase of 23.5%), gross profit grew to PLN 6.7 million from PLN 5.4 million, i.e. 24.2% more than a year earlier. EBIDTA grew by 20.8% and amounted to PLN 19.2 million. The Company generated PLN 5.1 million in net profit, compared to PLN 3.1 million a year earlier (an increase of 64.4%). The first-half data were related to the combined results of Trakcja S.A. and PRKiI S.A. Wrocław, which merged into one entity in December of the previous year.
“In the results for the first half of the year, we see the positive effects of organisational changes and management policy, including with regard to contracts and procurement.In addition, general administration costs are PLN 1.3 million lower than a year earlier.” – adds Roman Przybył, President of the Company.
In the published report for H1 2014, Trakcja Group applied new rules for presenting its results, which do not include revenue and costs from consortium agreements. Presented together with consortium partners, Trakcja Group’s revenue and costs would have been PLN 190.1 million higher, while Trakcja PRKiI’s would have been 95.2 million higher.
Trakcja PRKiI is the undisputed leader in railway construction in Poland in terms of revenue, scale of operations and available potential. It currently carries out more than 30 railway contracts throughout the country, including in the areas of Malbork, Rzeszów, Dębica, Łódź and Wrocław, as well as in Łódź. The company also operates in the energy sector, as a manufacturer of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and steel structures for traction network needs. Almost all of the new 3kV switchgear installed on the modernised Warsaw–Gdynia railway line was supplied by Trakcja PRKiI S.A. The Company also carries out contracts in the field of urban transport, building or modernising tram and trolleybus lines.
