Fourth Contract in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship
Trakcja PRKiI has signed a contract worth PLN 398.3 million for the reconstruction of track layouts together with accompanying infrastructure on railway line E59 on the Choszczno – Stargard section.
With today’s contract we have come close to a billion zlotys of contracts concluded this year – says Marcin Lewandowski, President of the Management Board of Trakcja PRKiI. This is already the fourth railway contract we are carrying out in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, and their total value exceeds PLN 1.5 billion.
The contract provides for the reconstruction of tracks and the overhead contact line over approx. 75 km, the adaptation of 21 engineering structures to serve as wildlife crossings, and the modernisation of 10 level crossings. It also provides for the reconstruction of Dolice railway station and 4 stops, and 12 platforms together with street furniture, and their adaptation to the needs of people with reduced mobility. The platforms will be equipped with modern lighting and a passenger information system. Tactile guidance paths for visually impaired and blind people will be installed on the anti-slip surface of the platforms.
The works will be carried out by a consortium comprising Trakcja PRKiI, Schweerbau and SBM. Trakcja PRKiI is the consortium leader, and the share of works planned for the Company is 50%.
The modernisation of the E59 line will improve access for goods and passengers from Poznań and southern Poland, and from southern and central Europe, to the Baltic seaports in Szczecin and Świnoujście.
