A consortium of Trakcja PRKiI, Mostostal Warszawa and PEUiM Białystok, from the Trakcja Group, has signed a contract for the design and construction of a section of the S61 and S16 expressways in Ełk County. The contract is worth more than PLN 557 million net.
“This contract is the result of a consistent policy of developing our company in the road sector, which we pursue in a sustainable manner, applying a conservative approach to pricing – says Marek Kacprzak, Vice-President of the Management Board of Trakcja PRKiI S.A. Today’s contract is the result of choosing the third price offer (almost PLN 100 million more expensive than the cheapest one), comparable with the client’s cost estimate, in which we took into account a number of potential risks. Trakcja PRKiI and its subsidiaries are systematically developing their own potential, increasing their independence from the subcontractor market.”
Under the task, more than 19 km of the S61 road will be built on the Ełk Południe interchange – Wysokie interchange section, together with a 3.425 km section of the S16 road. The scope of the order includes all works necessary for the proper functioning of the expressway. Apart from the construction of sections of S61 and S16, the works will include, among others, the reconstruction of existing roads, the construction of engineering structures, infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, link roads, road safety devices and emergency crossings. In addition, drainage, a telecommunications network and lighting will be installed, and environmental protection equipment will be fitted.
The works will be carried out within 29 months, not counting winter periods during the execution of the works.
