AB Kauno tiltai Wins Contracts Worth Nearly PLN 239 Million for the Modernisation of the A1 Motorway in Lithuania

AB Kauno tiltai, a company belonging to Trakcja Group, has signed two contracts with AB Via Lietuva – the Lithuanian manager of national roads – concerning the preparation of design documentation and the execution of renovation works on the A1 Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda motorway. The total value of the contracts is EUR 56.46 million net (nearly PLN 239 million).

The first contract, worth EUR 16.76 million net (nearly PLN 71 million), covers the preparation of the renovation design and the execution of construction works on the right shoulder of the road section from km 39.299 to km 55.585 and on the left shoulder from km 39.728 to km 50.000.

The second contract, worth EUR 39.70 million net (nearly PLN 168 million), concerns the preparation of the renovation design and the execution of construction works on the section of the A1 motorway from km 116.901 to km 152.882 on the right side and from km 146.165 to km 147.90 on the left side.

The scope of the investment includes, among other things, milling of the existing asphalt surface, subgrade stabilisation, laying of new asphalt layers, reinstatement of road safety elements and reconstruction of infrastructure structures. The works will contribute to improving the quality of the infrastructure and increasing traffic safety on one of the most important transport routes in Lithuania.

The A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda motorway is Lithuania’s most important road artery, connecting the country’s three largest cities and constituting a key element of the national transport network. Winning two contracts on this route confirms the strong position of AB Kauno tiltai on the road infrastructure market and strengthens the presence of Trakcja Group on the Baltic markets.

In total, the two projects cover the modernisation of more than 50 km of the A1 motorway and are among the larger road contracts won by AB Kauno tiltai recently.
