AB Kauno Tiltai Awarded Gold Medal in “Lithuanian Product of the Year 2024”
Our subsidiary AB Kauno Tiltai won a gold medal in the “Lithuanian Product of the Year 2024” competition for delivering the first stage of the construction of the southern bypass of Tauragė. The award, presented by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, aims to promote high-quality Lithuanian products and services.
Project information:
Objective: Reducing congestion and improving air quality in Tauragė.
Scope: Construction of a 3-kilometre section of bypass connecting national road no. 147 with the A12 road.
Completion period: 14 months (5 August 2022 to 20 October 2023).
Benefits of the bypass:
Congestion reduction: The new bypass will reduce traffic volume on Tauragė’s main streets, contributing to a smoother flow of vehicles.
Improved air quality: Reduced road congestion will limit exhaust emissions, which will have a positive impact on air quality.
Noise reduction: Noise barriers and the reorganisation of traffic will contribute to lowering noise levels in the city.
Safety: Modern infrastructure, including roundabouts and traffic lights, will improve road safety.
Convenience: Pedestrian and cycle paths and lighting will improve the comfort and safety of pedestrians and cyclists.
The project supports the mission “100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030”, reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the reorganisation of traffic.

Uniqueness of the project:
The southern bypass of Tauragė can be seen as exceptional and unique because it fulfils the mission of climate neutrality and smart cities. The European Commission selected Tauragė as one of 100 EU cities to take part in the EU mission “100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030”, also known as the Cities Mission.
