We are pleased to announce that Trakcja S.A. has won a distinction in the 28th edition of the “Modernisation of the Year & Construction of the 21st Century” competition (Modernizacja Roku & Budowa XXI w.) in the category “Modernisation of bridge structures and viaducts”. The awards gala took place on 27 September 2024 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, where outstanding construction investments in Poland are recognised every year. Trakcja S.A. was distinguished for the construction of the Bolesław Chrobry Bridges along voivodeship road no. 455 in Wrocław.
The Competition Jury, consisting of representatives of Ministries, Voivodeship Marshal Offices (Urzędy Marszałkowskie), universities and the construction industry, shortlisted 93 structures out of 635 entries from all over Poland for the final. The idea of the Competition is to set the directions in which construction should develop and to preserve valuable structures for future generations.
The distinction was received on behalf of Trakcja by Bartłomiej Cygan – Member of the Management Board, Technical Director, and Michał Krajewski – Director in the Road and Bridge Branch (Oddział Drogowo-Mostowy).
– May the distinction awarded be a source of pride and satisfaction for everyone involved in this project. To the contract management I extend my thanks for their commitment and hard work – said Bartłomiej Cygan just after the ceremony.

The Chrobry Bridges are two bridges – North and South – with an arched steel structure, about 186 m long in total, incorporated into the historic architecture of Wrocław’s “Great Island” (Wielka Wyspa) and the nearby areas of Szczytnicki Park and the surroundings of the Olympic Stadium. The design authors are Biprogeo Projekt Sp. z o.o. Wrocław and GTI Design Sp. z o.o. Gdańsk, and the investor is Wrocławskie Inwestycje Sp. z o.o.
The distinction is proof that Trakcja S.A. not only delivers ambitious projects but also contributes to the development of infrastructure that serves residents and enhances the aesthetics of cities.
