Trakcja PRKiI a Partner of The High Voltage Cable Seminar

The HVC Seminar is the first meeting in Poland of Polish and European electrical engineers with leading scientists in the field. The seminar is a training project enabling active participation in discussing technical issues and implementation experience in a narrow circle of specialist engineers.

The main theme of the first edition, launched in Kraków in 2016, was the practical application of the latest standards for the design and construction of HV cable networks in Europe and worldwide.

Continuing the subject matter from last year, the thematic scope planned for this year’s edition covers:

1. induced voltages in the return conductors of HV cables,
2. operating configurations of long cable lines (l>20km),
3. the effects of underloading HV cables during operation under the rated conditions of the power system,
4. optimisation of the current-carrying capacity of cable lines.

The issues described in points 1–3 will be presented by eminent world specialists from Power Delivery Consultants Inc. – John H. Cooper and Rachel I. Mosier, actively involved in the work of the CIGRE and IEEE scientific committees. Cable ampacity issues (point 4) will be discussed by Prof. George J. Anders.
