Trakcja Group – Three-Quarter Results

In the nine-month period of 2018, sales revenue amounted to PLN 1 097 million and was more than 15.5% higher than in the corresponding period of the previous year. Gross profit on sales amounted to PLN 37.8 million and was almost 26% lower than in the same period of 2017. After nine months, the Group recorded a net loss of PLN 13.5 million. The third quarter brought sales of PLN 518.3 million – 25.8% higher than in the same period of 2017. The gross margin remained at a comparable level to the previous year, at 5.2%, but increased compared to the results for the first half of 2018, when it was 1.9%. 

“Our results reflect the situation in the construction industry – says Marcin Lewandowski, President of the Management Board of Trakcja PRKiI. The main factor determining the Group’s negative result was the situation in Lithuania, where we are still awaiting the resolution of new, large tenders announced after a longer standstill. In Poland, we are currently at the peak phase of executing contracts signed during the investment gap. In the third quarter, the Group’s order backlog increased by almost PLN 1 billion worth of contracts valued according to current pricing conditions. The Group’s order backlog, amounting to almost PLN 3 billion at the end of September, will be systematically supplemented with further contracts, although we assume a selective approach to announced tenders.”   

During the third quarter, more than a dozen contracts were signed, including, among others, railway contracts: Poznań – Rokietnica for PLN 292.2 million, two contracts under SKM Szczecin for a total of PLN 481.2 million,  as well as road contracts, including the construction of the S 61 expressway for PLN 251 million, and a section of provincial road 190 for PLN 52 million. The results include revenue of PLN 26 million generated in Ukraine.
