On 14 March 2022, Arkadiusz Arciszewski, Vice-President of the Management Board and Technical Director, representing Trakcja S.A., signed a contract with the Municipal Investment Board (Zarząd Inwestycji Miejskich) for the reconstruction of Plac Wolności in Łódź.
A further important element of the grand plan for the revitalisation of Łódź is the reconstruction of Plac Wolności. The former market square was renamed Plac Wolności in 1918. An element that referred to its name was the monument to Tadeusz Kościuszko, unveiled in 1930, destroyed by the Germans at the beginning of the Second World War and then rebuilt after the war. The place is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive in Łódź.
After an electronic auction, the tender for the Revitalisation of Plac Wolności was decided in favour of Trakcja. As a result of the planned works, the square is to change its appearance completely: trees will appear and the surface of the square will be given over to pedestrians, while the characteristic tram roundabout will disappear.
The contract, worth PLN 37,515,000 gross, is to be completed within 18 months.
