Kauno Tiltai Wins Contract for Railway Infrastructure at the Rūdninkai Training Area

AB Kauno Tiltai, a company belonging to Trakcja Group, has signed a contract with AB LTG Infra for the delivery of a project to build railway infrastructure and accompanying infrastructure at the Rūdninkai military training area in the Šalčininkai district in Lithuania. The value of the contract is approx. EUR 25 million (excluding VAT).

The scope of the project covers design and construction work connected with the preparation of railway and logistics infrastructure enabling the efficient functioning of the training area’s transport facilities. The undertaking also includes the preparation of documentation for military infrastructure, the determination of cadastral data and – where necessary – procedures for the acquisition of land for public purposes. The investment will create conditions for safe and efficient logistics transport for the needs of the Rūdninkai training area.

Commencement of the works is planned no later than 24 March 2026.

The investment will include a railway siding approx. 8.6 km long with a track gauge of 1520 mm, which will be connected to the railway line on the Jašiūnai – Stasylos section and will lead to the newly built Rūdninkai station. The station will be adapted to handle transports of military equipment and equipped with, among other things, a track layout at least 800 m long, transshipment infrastructure, ramps for wheeled and tracked vehicles, a passenger platform and road and manoeuvring infrastructure.

The designed infrastructure has been adapted to operate under high-load conditions, including the transport of heavy military equipment and an axle load of up to 120 tonnes. The scope of the investment also covers the construction of access roads, drainage and environmental protection systems, lighting, cable ducts and the adaptation of existing utility networks.

Performance of the contract strengthens Trakcja Group’s competences in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects and confirms its active presence on foreign markets, in particular in the Baltic states region.
