Tram Contract in Gorzów Wielkopolski
The modernisation of the tram track and overhead contact line, nearly 3 km long, along Warszawska and Sikorskiego streets, together with the reconstruction of junctions, driveways and bus bays in Gorzów Wielkopolski, will be the subject of a contract signed by Trakcja PRKiI on 23 January. The scope of work also includes building platforms, rebuilding streets and junctions and supplementary infrastructure for urban public transport passengers, including pavements and cycle paths. The road bridge over the Kłodawka River will also undergo a thorough modernisation. The task will also remove the conflict between the existing road infrastructure and power networks.
“We are returning to delivering contracts in the tram infrastructure sector – says Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of the Management Board of Trakcja PRKiI. We have created our own unit responsible for the urban transport segment, made up of experienced engineering staff and fitter crews equipped with specialist equipment. In the past we have already carried out many tasks of this type, including in Warsaw, Gdańsk and Wrocław. In addition, we have been manufacturing switchgear for the tram segment for years. Using it, we have already modernised many substations supplying tram traction, including in Warsaw, Łódź, Olsztyn, Toruń and Kraków.”
The investment, worth PLN 45.3 million net, will be completed within 19 months of the date of concluding the contract.
