Good Revenue and Higher Profit

Trakcja Group, despite a decline in revenue, continues to improve profitability. Net profit grew by PLN 1.3 million to PLN 51.7 million. The value of contracts signed last year was as much as PLN 1.8 billion, won, among other things, thanks to a new tendering policy and successful expansion into the road market. The Group is also increasing its financial and execution potential in order to actively participate in new rail, road, and energy contracts.

Last year, Trakcja Group’s revenue amounted to PLN 1,329.2 billion and was 17% lower than in the previous year; despite this, net profit grew by PLN 1.3 million to PLN 51.7 million, bringing profitability to a level of nearly 4%.

“The decline in revenue was above all a result of delays in signing new contracts. We waited as long as 15 months from the day the tender was resolved for the conclusion of the largest contract of last year. Despite this, compared to the market we still have a sizeable order backlog, which at the end of the year amounted to nearly PLN 1.6 billion. We are also diversifying our operations, entering the road, tram, and energy markets. Our ambitions and capabilities clearly extend beyond the railway industry” – says Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.

Trakcja Group’s debt fell from PLN 202 million in 2014 to PLN 111 million at the end of 2015, and taking cash into account, the surplus of cash over the Group’s total debt amounted to PLN 140 million. The balance of financial activities improved by 76% and rose from -PLN 17 million to -PLN 4 million.

In the same period, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. recorded PLN 763.4 million in revenue, and with a profit of PLN 35.1 million, net profit margin reached 4.6%. The Company also continued organisational changes involving the merging of functions, which in turn allowed for further optimisation of employment. At the same time, Trakcja PRKiI prepared to carry out new tasks – the construction of transmission lines.

In addition, as part of further organisational changes, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. took over direct management of companies operating in Poland that had previously been subsidiaries of the Lithuanian part of Trakcja Group, including: PEUiM Białystok sp. z o.o. and Dalba sp. z o.o.
