Rail Contract in Silesia Worth PLN 300 Million

The contract concluded by Trakcja PRKiI on behalf of a consortium of contractors provides for the modernisation of 14.5 km of railway line on the Jaworzno Szczakowa – Trzebinia section. 24 months have been allowed for the completion of the works.

The task will be carried out on three sections: Jaworzno Szczakowa station, the Jaworzno Szczakowa – voivodeship border section and the Trzebinia – voivodeship border section. The contract, implemented on a build-only basis, provides for the comprehensive modernisation of the railway line together with passenger infrastructure, including: replacement of the trackbed together with reinforcements, and of the track layouts together with improvement of their geometry, construction of drainage and the removal or reconstruction of level crossings together with the construction of diversion roads. In addition, comprehensive modernisation of the overhead contact line, power supply facilities and non-traction power lines. An integral part of the works will be the execution of a number of tasks related to environmental protection.

Speeding up investment is key to the full implementation of the National Railway Programme – says Jarosław Tomaszewski, President of Trakcja PRKiI. I also count on the quick signing of further contracts in rail tenders worth more than PLN 800 million, in which we submitted the lowest price bids.”

The value of the contract, in which Trakcja PRKiI is the leader of the consortium of contractors carrying out this contract, is PLN 296.45 million net. The consortium partners include PKP Energetyka and PORR Polska.
