Trakcja Group Improves Its Results Again
Revenue growth, higher profits, and above all lower costs and a significant reduction in debt – these are the main conclusions from Trakcja Group’s annual report for 2014. Trakcja PRKiI S.A. – the largest company in the Group – achieved close to a billion in revenue and doubled its net profit.
Last year Trakcja Group closed with revenue at the level of PLN 1.6 billion (+25.7%) and a net profit of PLN 50 million (+68%). At the same time, the Group significantly reduced its debt by nearly PLN 70 million, i.e. by as much as 35%. For Trakcja PRKiI S.A., 2014 closed with revenue of PLN 966 million (+28.4%) and a net profit of PLN 50 million (+100%).
“In parallel with increasing the scale of our operations, we have developed a more efficient financing model, resulting in a reduced need for working capital. As a result, during the past year we significantly reduced our debt from loans and bonds issued in 2013, improved the Company’s profitability, and achieved results among the best in its history. The improvement in the financial situation of the subsidiary AB Kauno Tiltai enabled the payment of an advance dividend to the parent company for 2014.” – says Jarosław Tomaszewski, acting President of the Management Board of Trakcja PRKiI S.A.
Currently, one of the key tasks is diversifying operations into new markets. In 2014 the Group expanded its operations in Lithuania, significantly increasing revenue from the execution of railway contracts. Last year AB Kauno Tiltai secured its first contract in Sweden. Currently, Trakcja Group’s order backlog, including contracts planned to be signed in the coming weeks, exceeds PLN 2 billion.
“As an efficiently functioning organisation with strong financial foundations, we are well prepared for increased competitiveness. According to numerous forecasts, the coming years will be a period of record infrastructure spending. Amid growing margin pressure, with a professional workforce, modern equipment, and the trust of financial institutions, we have the appropriate potential to further strengthen our position in the infrastructure construction market.” – adds Jarosław Tomaszewski.
