Trakcja PRKiI Closed the First Quarter with a Profit

In the first quarter ended 31 March 2014, Trakcja PRKiI S.A. achieved sales revenue of nearly PLN 175 million, representing a 41.2% increase compared to the corresponding period of 2013, and a net profit of PLN 0.3 million. The gross profit margin on sales for the first quarter of 2014 amounted to 6.2% and increased by 4.6 p.p. compared to the margin for the first quarter of 2013, while net profit increased by more than PLN 8 million compared to the same period of the previous year.

“We owe our good results not only to the mild winter, but also to the restructuring launched last year – says Roman Przybył, President of the Trakcja Group. We are systematically improving our margin and continuously replenishing our order backlog, which grew by more than PLN 160 million in the first quarter.”

In the first quarter of 2014, the Trakcja Group achieved sales revenue of PLN 239.1 million, an increase of 60.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2013. Gross profit on sales amounted to PLN 12.2 million, and the gross result on sales increased by almost PLN 17 million compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the first quarter of 2014, the Group recorded an operating loss of PLN 1.9 million. The operating loss decreased by PLN 14.3 million compared to the first quarter of 2013, when it amounted to PLN 16.2 million.

For the period from 1 January 2014 to 31 March 2014, the Group recorded a gross loss of PLN 5.9 million, which decreased by PLN 16.1 million compared to the first quarter of 2013, when it amounted to PLN 22 million. The Group’s net result for the period from 1 January to 31 March 2014 was negative and reached PLN 5.2 million. The net loss decreased by PLN 16.2 million compared to the loss for the first quarter of 2013.
