We Will Modernise the Łódź Śródmieście Power Substation

On 2 April, Trakcja PRKiI signed a contract with PGE Dystrybucja Łódź worth almost PLN 19 million net for the modernisation of the 110/15/6 kV Rozdzielczy Punkt Zasilający Śródmieście (Śródmieście Distribution Supply Point) power substation, the technical building and accompanying infrastructure.

The scope of works includes the extension of the switchgear building and the adaptation and equipping of the power substation with indoor technology. This solution involves placing the electrical installation inside a building, which will protect it against the harmful effects of weather conditions. In addition, new installations will be fitted: outdoor lighting, earthing and lightning protection. New ventilation and air conditioning will be built. The works also provide for the installation of a fire-protection system and a system for rapid fire detection and suppression, as well as for the detection and signalling of threats such as attempted break-ins, gas installation leaks or the presence of harmful dusts and gases. The facility will also be equipped with video monitoring.

The project will also include an internal road, renovation of the existing cable duct, the substation fencing and the reclamation of green areas.

The project is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2021.
