On Thursday, 29 December this year, we opened the viaduct over the railway tracks, built as part of a partnership project and long awaited by the residents of Skarżysko – Kamienna.
The works involved the demolition of the old viaduct and the construction of a new road viaduct over the tracks, the reconstruction of local roads, and the construction of a turbo roundabout, which ultimately improved and increased capacity in the city. Bus lanes, new pavements and a pedestrian and cycle route with green areas were created. In addition, a number of necessary works were carried out relating to the extension of the storm sewer system and street lighting, and the reconstruction of water and sewage, gas, heating networks, etc.
The ceremonial opening of the structure, on the 100th anniversary of the City, took place in the presence of, among others, a Member of the European Parliament, members of parliament, the Voivode of Świętokrzyskie, the Marshal of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, representatives of the authorities of Skarżysko-Kamienna, Skarżysko County and the Municipality of Skarżysko-Kamienna, as well as the Trakcja Company and other distinguished guests.
Commissioned on schedule, i.e. by the end of 2022, the viaduct, worth nearly PLN 40 million, is the largest county road investment in the city.
