We are building tram lines in Olsztyn

As a result of the decision made in the appeal procedure by the National Chamber of Appeal and then by the court in Warsaw, the most favorable offer was selected for the performance of the extension of tram lines in Olsztyn. On 2 June, the client concluded a contract with the contractor.

The contractor selected as a result of the tender procedure - a consortium of Trakcja S.A. and Polimex - signed a contract with the Olsztyn Municipality on 2 June 2021 for the extension of the tram lines in Olsztyn with the value of PLN 403,164,353.11. The deadline for project completion set forth in the contract is 26 months, which means that the inhabitants of Olsztyn will be able to use the new lines as early as around August 2023.

The construction and extension works will be performed within the city with its streets in normal use. The scope of the contracted works will include, in particular, construction of a 6-kilometer long track bed along with the tram overhead contact line, construction of two rectifier stations for the tram overhead contact line, construction of a flyover with the length of approximately 270 meters and the span length of 28-39 meters, as well as reconstruction of intersections and streets along the tram line.

The contract will also include reconstruction and construction of sidewalks and bicycle paths along the tram line, reconstruction and construction of public transportation stops, bays, and platforms with shelters and passenger information and service equipment, as well as reconstruction and construction of drainage for the streets, the tracks, and the adjacent areas. Site lighting will also be constructed, along with power supply networks and a management system. The contractor will also install traffic lights and traffic safety equipment.

The contract signing was attended by representatives of the contracting authority and the consortium. Trakcja S.A. was represented by the Vice-President of the Management Board Arkadiusz Arciszewski and Member of the Management Board Adam Stolarz. “We are pleased with the court’s final decision, which confirmed the validity of our claims and enabled us to conclude a contract today that is important for the good development of the local community. We also perceive the selection of our bid as a testimony to the high competence of our company in the field of municipal investment projects,” commented Arkadiusz Arciszewski on the conclusion of the contract.
