Upgrade project for Vilnius airport
Kauno Tiltai, a Trakcja Group company signed a contract for alteration of part of the Vilnius airport. The value of the contract for Lithuanian Airports (SE Lietuvos Oro Uostai) is EUR 34 million.
The 17 months of work will be divided into 12 stages: construction of a new taxiway, reconstruction and upgrade of the existing section of the runway, construction of a wind cone, and upgrade of the northern parking apron for five large aircraft with relevant advanced infrastructure.
The planned works include a new bituminous surface, surface drainage systems, power grid, new environmentally friendly lighting system, and a network of internal roads.
The alteration of the tarmac in Vilnius will improve traffic conditions and safety. It will also be beneficial for the environment, thanks to the reduction of noise and greenhouse gas emissions. The works will not stop air traffic or passenger services.
